Annual Profections is an ancient astrological time-lord technique dating back to 1st-century Hellenistic astrologers like Vettius Valens and Ptolemy. Starting with your 1st House at birth (Age 0), the technique activates the next consecutive house and zodiac sign on every birthday, identifying the primary focal themes for that 12-month year.
The planetary ruler of the sign governing your active profection house becomes your Time-Lord (Lord of the Year). This specific planet steps into the spotlight as the cosmic director of your year. Every transit made by and to your Time-Lord during this 12-month window carries amplified significance and triggers major life milestones.
A 1st House year (Ages 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60...) emphasizes personal reinvention, health, and identity. A 7th House year (Ages 6, 18, 30, 42, 54, 66...) activates marriage, partnerships, and critical interpersonal decisions. A 10th House year (Ages 9, 21, 33, 45, 57, 69...) highlights career elevation, promotions, reputation, and public legacy.
Yes. Historically, Hellenistic astrologers designed Annual Profections specifically for the Whole Sign House system, where each 30-degree zodiac sign corresponds completely to one house. Cosmos Celestia calculates your exact profection using this historically authentic Whole Sign methodology.
